Unlock your creativity and deepen your understanding of abstract art in this immersive one-day workshop. Explore essential techniques such as layering, colour theory, and compositional structure, while transitioning from still life to abstraction.
Uncover how colour influences emotion, and examine the principles of design that lead to powerful visual expression. Learn how to organize compositions and create captivating abstract paintings with confidence.
Summer Camp Week 2: NATURE EXPLORERS
Mon. July 7 - Fri. July 11
From Emily Carr’s forests to Ted Harrison’s colourful skies, be inspired as you create your own art based on the natural environment!
This art-based camp features a different theme each week, with related art projects and art history. Camps run from 9am - 3pm and are designed for kids ages 6 - 12. Kids must be 6 years old at the start of camp.
Full week (5 days): Members: $200 Non-members: $220
Watercolour Painting Session
A unique new program at PAG, ArtRx is inspired by the Five Ways to Wellbeing and designed to support personal wellness through creativity and connection with nature.
In this workshop, we invite you to slow down and experience mindfulness through creative outdoor activities. Enjoy the calming practice of Forest Bathing and engage in Nature Sketching and Journaling—art-making in nature that fosters resilience, wellness, and self-care.
You'll also explore simple, mindful art techniques that can be easily integrated into your everyday life.
All sessions are led by a certified Forest Bathing and Creative Wellness guide.
All sessions will take place entirely outdoors, locations rotating according to the activities and weather. Our central meeting points include the Japanese Garden, Mountain Springs Nature Retreat and Penticton Art Gallery.
Linocut Carving Session
Explore the fundamentals of printmaking in this hands-on, two-day workshop designed for all skill levels. Try your hand at screen printing, monotype, linocut carving, and gel plate printing. Discover which techniques speak to you as you build your creative confidence through guided experimentation. Ages 19+, materials provided, no experience necessary.
